3D CAD Modeling and Solidification Simulation.

Tritech utilises Solidworks 2004, Pro/Engineer Wildfire, i-deas (versions 8&9) and Rhino 3D modeling software, which as well as their native file types can import the following file formats:-

For 3D solid models:

  • Step AP204 & AP214
  • Iges files
  • Use trimmed surfaces type 144
  • Set accuracy to high (i.e. significant digits to 14, if option is available)
  • VDA fs (*.vda) files
  • ACIS (*.sat) files
  • Parasolid(*.x_t & *.x_b) or *.xmt_txt & *.xmb_txt from unigraphics

For 2D drawings:

  • Autocad *.dwg & *.dxf files
  • HPGL, CGM and most other graphic formats

N.B for 3D solid models we prefer IGES or native (Solidworks, Pro/E or I-deas) file formats.
Step/Parasolid/Vda are also acceptable if you have these options for exporting, if not please supply an STL file.

Tritech also utilises "heat transfer finite element analysis" software for "solidification simulation" trials, and "rapid prototyping" software for model building, which are capable of importing the following file formats:-

  • STL files in binary or ascii format (binary preferred as file sizes are smaller)

Data Transfer

CAD data can be sent to us via e-mail (cad@tritechgroup.co.uk) or can be downloaded from your ftp site (if applicable). Please compress data before sending (i.e. zip, arj, tar.z, gzip etc).
