Investment Castings

Investment casting operations are carried out at Tritech Precision Products and Tritech Alkast.

Today investment castings are produced by a centuries old “lost wax“ technique, but now modern materials controlled by “state of the art“ equipment are an essential part of this cutting edge technology.

Investment castings produce near to net shape configurations, offering engineering designers a wider scope of manufacturing options in a wide range of alloys.
Over a 100 ferrous and non-ferrous alloys are routinely cast within the Tritech Group.
The process is capable of producing precise detail and dimensional accuracy in a broad weight, shape and size range.

By offering near to net shape configuration, machining and fixturing costs are substantially reduced or eliminated.
In some design cases, several parts could be made as one investment casting, reducing handling, assembly and inspection costs.

Recent investment at Tritech Precision Products has seen a major overhaul of coating techniques with the introduction of a robotic shelling system.
To further compliment capabilities a vacuum melting furnace was commissioned during 2004 adding the capability of casting “High temperature” superalloys.
